Time for some music ~ ( Open to anybody! )

Roderich was extremely nervous. His stomach twisted in knotts, he wasn't sure if he should be in this place at the moment. However, his grandfather did say to go and..'entertain' himself (he really meant for him to leave his sight), and this was the only room in the castle he could think of (It was also the only room he could find by heart and not get lost). With that thought in mind he took a calming breath and quietly opened the door that was in front of him, his eyes brightning as he took in the room that housed all the instruments in the castle.

Roderich was currently in the music room located in Lunar Castle. It was a place he would come to often as a child, when he would ocasionally come with his grandfather when the man had buisness to do with the royal family. Today he and Adolf were there to descuss things with the Prince, letting him know when they would leave for the Northern Kingdom for some...family related meetings. Roderich was extremely excited about the trip; he would be able to find his grandmothers books relating to Ice magic, and he would be able to see his grandmothers homeland.

Looking about the room to make sure it was empty he strode to the center of the room, it was were his favorite instrument was placed. Smiling a bit, he carefully ran his gloved fingers over the ivory keys of the Grand piano. Sitting himself down on the small bench he positioned his fingers over the keys and began to play, the music filled the room and instantly began to calm his nerves.

Ah, this is devine! He thought, closing his eyes as he began to sway with the music. Nothing could break his peaceful little dream world at the moment.

Francis sighed in relief. He had done it, the King had given him approval.

The Duke of France now had the seal of approval from the Royal family to expand his naval army. France's naval base was, once again, going to size up to the British.

Yes, today was a wonderful day for Francis. He walked out of the throne room, practically jumping with excitement, and hummed. He wanted to make his way back to France and make a public announcement as soon as he could, so that the people of his country could share his joy. They would be so proud of him, so happy. They would think that he was the best Duke his territory had ever seen.

He made his way down the corridor, eager to get home. But something stopped him. He heard... Is that... Chopin? He furrowed his brows and strained his ears, trying to listen closely. Yes, that definitely is Chopin. His curiosity outweighed his eagerness, and he turned the other way to find where the music was coming from. The Frenchman didn't know the palace as well as others, he only really knew where the throne room, main hallway, and Arthur's chambers were, but the acoustics sounded so wonderful, that it couldn't be coming from anything but a room specially designed for instruments. Generally those were quite spacious, and near the front of the palace. As he approached the room, he tried to keep his footsteps quiet, not wanting them to drown out the music. As soon as he got to the room, he poked his head in the doorway. Ah, It was Roderich Edelstein. What a pleasant surprise.

Francis waited for Roderich to finish his piece, and smiled genuinely, clapping slowly when it was over. "Très bien. Can you play more of Chopin for me?" The aristocrat was more than eager to hear more. Roderich was wonderful at piano, and Francis was in love with Chopin's music.

Roderich was feeling light and relaxed, even after the piece had ended. He never knew why but music seemed to help him with his problems, probably because it distracted him he wasn't sure. Or maybe it was because his older cousins never really liked clasical music so they avoided the music room like the plague, which meant Roderich had a wonderful hiding spot.

He jumped a bit when he heard the slow clapping, he turned to the entrance to see Duke Francis Bonnefois standing there. He paniced a moment but pushed it down the moment the Duke had asked a question, it would not be good to panic like an idiot.

Well if the Duke wanted to hear more Chopin Roderich would gladly play some more, he liked playing the piano and it would be incredibly rude of him to say no when the Duke had just asked a simple request. He stood up and gave a respectful bow, "Ah, Duke Bonnefois. It would be my pleasure to play more", He righted himself and sat at the piano bench again, poising his fingers over the keys. He looked to the Duke, "Do you have a specific piece you would like to hear?". It was a good thing that Roderich knew all of Chopin's work, it would be terribly embaressing if he didn't know what the Duke wanted to hear.

Francis chuckled to himself at the bewildered look on Roderich's face. He just came to the conclusion that he was too stunning for anybody not to be completely and utterly enticed with his face. But then again, it was a very, very beautiful face. And Roderich probably wasn't expecting it.

The Duke gave a small bow back in respect, even though Roderich was below him. It was polite, and Francis, if anything, was most definitely refined. He racked through his brain, trying to think of the piece that he wanted to hear. "Hmm.. I would love to 'ear the grande polonaise brilliante. Do you know that one?" Francis walked slowly towards the closest chair and sat down, leaning one of his elbows up on the top. The Duke surveyed the room, taking in the surroundings. A large, dark-brown glossy instrument stood in the corner, collecting dust. A few cupboards, presumably holding woodwinds, a small case, holding an ancient violin. But the amazing centerpiece of the room was most definitely the grand piano. Carved so intricately, it radiated serenity and innocence.

Francis could definitely get used to this room. He had one much like this at home, but it was not so stacked with various instruments. It was simple, and most definitely not the music room of a queen and king.

Roderich felt a little stupid for being so jumpy, and he thought he covered his shock quite well. That, or Duke Francis saw his shock but did not comment. For prides sake, Roderich was going to go for the first option. He blinked in surprised when the Duke gave a polite bow towards him, it was an honor, considering that the other was higher in rank than himself.

Hearing the man's request he gave a polite smile and nodded, "Ja, I know that one. And I will be honored to play it for you". With that he turned towards the piano, flexing his fingers a bit ( one must have limber fingers when playing. ) before he touched the ivory keys. He was familier with the piece, thankfully, and he hoped that he would play the piece well. The last thing he would want is for his playing to sound..well, mediocre, that would be embarrassing.

Calm down! This is no time to be thinking about playing badly, Honestly, what was wrong with him. Calming himself down, he went began to play the music piece the Duke requested. He closed his eyes, letting the music flow out into the music room. A small smile found its way on his face, the music helping him gain some peace of mind. Ah, music, nothing was better than it.
